Environmental Factors Paper This paper will discuss the five environmental factors that influence global and domestic marketing decisions that organizations must make. The five environmental factors are social, economic, technological, competitive, and regulatory. The social forces of the environment as defined in Marketing, include the demographic characteristics of the population and its values (Kerin Berkowitz, Hartley Rudelius, 2006, p. 74). This includes gender differences, buying patterns, diversity, culture, and attitudes. The Company refers to this factor as corporate citizenship. There are safety standards for airplane products, airline operations, airports, and airline personnel such as pilots and mechanics whose jobs can affect the safety of flight. Airplane manufacturers and airline operato rs typically exceed government standards. On the defense side, regulations come from federal organizations as International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and various others. Is technology good or bad? This question is the root of a continuous debate on whether the effects of technology on society are more positive or negative. Technology has changed the world in so many ways, and certain inventions have made significant impacts on society. Comparing Cyrano de Bergerac and the Movie, Roxanne Isnt it easier to accept the idea that a main character would be engaged in a fist fight, rather than a sword fight? To me it is just more real to have the setting of a story in modern times and in the United States. Rostands Cyrano De Bergerac is written about a time that no one alive now has experienced. There is the same plot idea that an ugly man wants the pretty girl, but she is too busy being infatuated with the pretty boy to notice the intellect of the man she truly comes to love. She takes on the role of being Charlie Bales? confident and most trusted friend. In this story, Dixie plays a key role to the plot by giving Roxanne the letter Charlie wrote. Giving the characters and setting a modern angle helps the present society relate to the masterpiece by Rostand. Is the tragedy lost, or is it just more believable? One of the most profound changes is the difference in what happens after Chris, or Christian, joyfully rushes to Roxanne?s room after the balcony scene. In the original, Cyrano keeps his word to help Christian and distracts De Guiche from interrupting what is going on in the house. Religion was an important part of medieval life. Many question if the Catholic Church was positive or negative during the middle ages. This essay will explain why the Church was a negative aspect during the medieval times. According to A Document 2, the Church started a court system called the Inquisition. The Inquisition included church officials who search for people who are suspected or accused of not obeying the church and punishing them. People who commit an action against the Church are called heretics. Heretics are punished by loss of property, imprisonment and death. Even if the person was truly innocent, if the church officials didn’t believe you, you were out of luck. There was no escape. The medieval Church members were corrupt. Because the Church was Roman Catholic, it was headed by the pope.
